1. Service description

platenexus is an automatic license plate recognition platform (LPR/ANPR) offered as an HTTP API service. Integrated systems can send images and receive the identified license plate together with confidence level and operation metadata in response.

2. Authorized use

By using this service, the user declares that:

• They will use the API only in contexts for which they have legal and contractual authorization.
• They have permission from owners or responsible parties for the locations where cameras are installed.
• They use the service for legitimate purposes such as access control, fleet management, parking, gate operations, and similar automation.
• They understand data protection laws (LGPD) and the responsibilities involved in handling vehicle plate data.

3. Prohibited uses

It is expressly forbidden to use platenexus for:

• Covert surveillance of individuals without their knowledge or consent.
• Harassment, unauthorized monitoring, or tracking of third-party vehicles without legal basis.
• Any purpose involving abuse, discrimination, harassment, or illegal activity.
• Reselling or publicly exposing processed data without authorization.
• Attempts to bypass usage limits, authentication, or platform control mechanisms.

4. Responsibility for usage

The user is fully responsible for images sent to the API, the platform usage context, and compliance with applicable law. The service provider is not liable for consequences resulting from improper or unauthorized use.

5. Account suspension and termination

The account may be suspended or terminated without prior notice in case of:

• Violation of these terms of use.
• Abusive, excessive, or unauthorized usage outside permitted purposes.
• Attempting to compromise the service security or availability.

6. Usage limits and availability

The Free Trial plan includes 2500 monthly lookups. Once the limit is reached, the API returns HTTP 429 and requests are blocked until the beginning of the next month. The counter resets monthly, without carrying over unused lookups.

The platform is provided "as is." Interruptions or recognition failures may occur. We work to keep the service highly available and to communicate scheduled maintenance when relevant.

7. Recognition limitations

The API uses computer vision models and may produce recognition errors. The returned confidence level is an estimate. API output should not be used as the sole source of decision-making in critical security systems.

8. Changes to the terms

These terms may be revised at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new conditions. Significant changes will be communicated by registered email.
